Joe Racicot named president of Montana Rail Link
The Washington Companies announced today that Joe Racicot, who has been Montana Rail Link (“MRL”) Vice President of Administration & General Counsel since 2015, has been named President, effective immediately. Mr. Racicot succeeds Derek Ollmann, who was just named President of Seaspan Marine Transportation.
“While it saddens me to be leaving the MRL family, I am confident that MRL will continue to provide world-class customer service while maintaining its focus on safety,” said Derek Ollmann, “After working with Joe these last few years, I know he’s ready for the challenge of leading MRL through its next phase.”

About Joe Racicot:
In 2015, Joe was appointed General Counsel at MRL and was ultimately promoted to Vice President of Administration and General Counsel in 2019. Prior to joining MRL, Joe was Associate Counsel for Washington Corporations starting in 2007. Joe served as the Confidential Assistant to both the Deputy Administrator for Nuclear Nonproliferation and Deputy Under Secretary for Counterterrorism, for the National Nuclear Security Administration of the U.S. Department of Energy. Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Carroll College, along with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
