Randy Gustin was appointed Chief Engineer for Montana Rail Link in 2011. Randy has overall responsibility for all aspects of safety and infrastructure within the Engineering Department, including, buildings, rail, ties, bridges, signals and tunnels. Randy began his career with Montana Rail Link in 1989 as a seasonal track laborer/machine operator. While achieving his Mechanical Engineering degree from Gonzaga University, Randy worked for Budinger & Associates, returning to Montana Rail Link in 1994 as an Engineering Technician. He has held the positions of Assistant Roadmaster, Roadmaster and Assistant Chief Engineer prior to being promoted to his current position of Chief Engineer. Randy is a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association.
