When
applying for a Longitudinal Pipeline Encroachment on
railroad property, the following must be submitted to
the Property Management Division:

A completed Application,
plans and drawings of the proposed project (three
sets of each).

A non-refundable $600 review fee, check
or money order made payable to Montana Rail Link,
Inc.
Once
MRL's Engineering Department has reviewed and approved
your application, the documentation necessary to draft
a pipeline permit will be forwarded to the Property
Management Division. Once the agreement has been drawn
up you will receive the originals for signature.
Before
construction can commence:

All executed copies of the agreement must be forwarded
to the Property Management
Division along with a $325.00 processing fee and payment
for the first year's permit fee. Your check or money
order must be made payable to Montana Rail Link, Inc.

Proof of insurance in the form of a certificate from
an approved insurance carrier following the agreement
and one week's notice of the schedule of work. Railroad
Protective Insurance may be required.

You, or your contractor, must have a copy of the fully
executed agreement on site during construction.
While
the project is underway, the Engineering department
will assign a contract engineer and/or flagman to observe
the work to ensure that it meets the agreed upon construction
specifications. The actual cost of construction inspection
and/or the flagmen will be billed to the permit holder.
