Montana Rail Link Buys 16 Brand-New, High-Powered Diesels

At $1.9 million a pop, Montana Rail Link did not rush into its purchase of 16 brand-new diesel locomotives.

Laurel Outlook
The Laurel Chamber of Commerce received a 10 foot by 60 foot boxcar from Montana Rail Link last week to use to store its Christmas decorations used downtown each holiday season. MRL carmen took the wheels off of the car and lifted it onto MRL property leased by Ken and Peggy Miller for Montana Furniture Outlet on West Main Street.

City Praises MRL Derailment Response

After reviewing the events of the morning of June 18, city officials say a Montana Rail Link train derailment and ethanol spill in downtown Missoula that day was handled "exceptionally well."
"Montana Rail Link and our public safety people followed protocol," Mayor John Engen said. "They did all the right things in the wake of it."
