Freight Claims

At Montana Rail Link, we take the safety and security of your freight seriously. We make every effort to ensure that your product reaches its destination in the same condition as it originated. If you have concerns regarding the arrival condition of your shipment and choose to file a freight claim, we will investigate and resolve your claim issues as quickly and equitably as possible.

When receiving goods, please keep in mind the following:

1. Note condition and number of seals.
2. Verify condition of lading, including unit count and/or weight if applicable.
3. If damage exists, please contact a MRL freight claims representative and download the Lading Loss and Damage form and instructions.
4. Do not unload prior to step 3 above.
5. Take photographs before handling any lading and during unloading.
6. Keep detailed damage and shortage notations on receiving records.
