property such as a disabled vehicle on a railroad grade
crossing, immediately call (800)
338 4750 and request the Chief Dispatcher.
Pre-Arranged
Crossing Assistance Number
To
pre-arrange a safe crossing of a low, slow or oversized
vehicle across any Montana Rail Link track, please follow
these steps:

Call (800) 338 4750 a minimum of seven (7) days prior
to your proposed crossing move

Be prepared to provide a description of the crossing
location and a return telephone number, fax number,
and/or email address

If a railroad representative is unable to assist you
immediately, a return call, fax, or email will be
provided within four (4) days of your initial call
to discuss the details of your crossing move

resources are available to assist you in developing
a description of the crossing location. These include
a Montana Rail Link system map, available at www.montanarail.com
(under General Information) and various maps available
from the Montana Department of Transportation at www.mdt.mt.gov/travinfo/maps/
and from the Idaho Department of Transportation at www.state.id.us/aboutidaho/maps.html

national, non-profit education and awareness program
dedicated to ending collisions, fatalities and injuries
at highway-rail grade crossings has a large catalogue
